We had a wonderful time discussing internet safety last week in all of our classes! The students were active in our discussions and learned a lot of important information. I wanted to share an additional site that you may find useful. You can use this site to not only learn about internet safety, but also about books and movies your students may be interested in. This site gives detailed information and almost a "rating" to help you decide if it is appropriate for your child.
www.commonsensemedia.com As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns! Hello Families!
It is that important time again.....Internet Safety Unit. While this is a topic we discuss all year long, I like to take a designated time to teach the concepts in depth. We as a society are becoming more involved in technology and social media everyday. I want to teach simple, yet critical concepts to our students to keep them safe and educated. Here is a nice, concise document for you to use to keep up with the most recent sites, warning signs and safety tips. http://www.michigan.gov/documents/ag/Sites__Apps_Warning_Signs_Safety_Tips_438595_7.pdf I will also use this site with all of the students to help teach the concepts. They really enjoy the content and seem to grasp it well. http://www.netsmartzkids.org/LearnWithClicky Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. Thank you for your support! |
